D D Eye Institute is the premier institute for phaco surgery. We are first to start phaco surgery in the state in 1994. it was established by Dr. D D Verma in year 1993. The director of the institute Dr. D D Verma did his post graduation in ophthalmology from R P center, All India Institute of Medical Science, New Delhi.
In the year 2012, a new training institute and charitable hospital was established. This institute is spread in more than1 lakh sq. feet area and one of largest eye hospital in the North India and seventh largest in Asia.
The duration of the training vary from 15 to 45 days, depends on interest of candidate. We give them two or more cataract cases to operate every day under supervision of consultant.
During fellowship of 1.5 yrs you are allowed to examine, treat & operate patients. Initially for 3 months SICS surgery will be given, to get acquainted with microsurgery and tissue handling.

The aim of starting the institute in kota was to provide latest technology and to train eye surgeons best in the class globally.
DD Eye institute was established by Dr DD verma in the year 1993 with the aim of providing quality eye care services in Rajasthan as well as the neighbouring states of UP & MP. Accommodative lens Implantation, American Acurus vitrectomy machine for vitrectomy & lensectomy, I.C.L lens Implantation (For removal of high number spects).

When I came to Kota, it was as he said, he is a self-made highly skilled doctor with his own hospital. The training was one on one, every day 3-4 hands on cataract surgeries with evening video watching of my operations and correction, suggestions and tips regarding my skills.
At the end of the two weeks, after 24 operations, I could manage all steps of the cataract operation. Coming back to Switzerland I started to operate showing a big improvement being able to complete a cataract operation on my own under observation and from then on I have only improved.
For those who are looking for a good program, I will definitely recommend the cataract training with Dr. Verma.
Dr. DD Verma is high level specialist and very nice teacher who takes a hand and opens a mind in clinic is available high level equipment. It is infinity Phaco System and Zeiss mycroscope.
Fellow also provided with everything he needs: books, recording system of surgeries, computer. With good wishes for Dr. DD Verma for organizing such programme.
I participated in the advanced Phacoemulsification training programme at DD EYE institute. By all means , it is one of the most efficient hands on training programmes that i have ever involved in.
The programme is simple, effective one to one training and customized to suit individual Ophthalmologist requirements.
The reason we would completely recommend Dr. Verma is that he was in every single step with us, during surgery he was right next to us, showing and telling us what we should do, he kept nothing for himself, if there was something we needed to know in order to improve he would say it, after surgery we would discus each case and he would always give us tips to improve .
He encouraged us to watch the surgeries we had performed to find our mistakes and learn from them, this was extremly helpful.
After a month training we can say this programme is what we needed to gain enough confidence and knowledge to start doing phaco ourselves.

During my fellowship, It was all the time one to one communication with Dr. DD Verma. In a short span of time I became a master of handling all type of complicated Cataract Surgeries. Right now I am successfully running my own hospital at Yavatmal, Maharastra.

It is very well said "Experience is the best teacher" but for me having Dr. DD Verma as my teacher has been the best experience. I was privileged and grateful to have him as my guide for anterior segment fellowship during 2015-2016.
His dedication to teach, ethical and evidence based patient care along with latest and sophisticated equipment and facilities at hospital shaped me into a skilled cataract surgeon. I did more than 700 phacos, around 2000 sics along with many pterygium, TRAB, DCR, evisceration and other procedures. Performing around 200 topical phaco with clear corneal temoral incision especially on paid patients boosted my confidence level. No matter wherever I go ahead in my life, when I look back on this road, D D Eye Institute is always going to be a memorable part of my life journey.
I joined the institute as fellow in Nov.15. In initial day it was very difficult for me to adjust here. But encouraging nature and friendly behaviour of Dr. DD Verma which gave me confidence to learn things here. Before joining this institute my surgical skill was almost zero. Under expert guidance of Dr. Verma I performed more than 1000 SICS and 500 Phaco Surgeries till now and many other surgeries. For last three month I am doing topical phaco in almost every cases.
It was Dr. Vermasir's clinical acumen and surgical skills which enlighten me and gave the confidence to do OPDs and surgeries independently. Today I can proudly say that I had the best institute and mentor to learn.

He is a very experienced and very fine surgeon. He also gives us very valuable tips during surgeries. Recently, on 23rd February | joined the institute and observed that senior fellows are performing Phaco surgeries confidently under Topical anesthesia and are consulting patient's in OPD very well.
Its been only a month an half since my joining and I feel very privileged to become a part of this institute. Not many institutes would start giving surgeries from the first week.
I didn't have good experience of fellowship in other hospitals and for that very reason I joined this Institute. My senior fellows are doing very well and it’s encouraging me to become like them.
